Vacationing at the Cabin

In the UFO business, there are many reports of unidentified lights. Although there are few that match the popularity of the Phoenix Lights, still once in a while, one comes along that interests me.

In June, 2011, a couple from California was enjoying a weekend trip to their vacation cabin. One evening, they were out on their deck, just talking and doing a little sky watching. They were facing the southwest.

Because their cabin is in a highly forested area, their vision is limited, but they do have a clear view of the sky directly above them. It was shortly before midnight when the husband spotted something that appeared to be flickering similar to a candle flame.

He did not think much of it at first, thinking that possibly the atmosphere was causing a star to give off the flickering glow. It began as a single light that would get brighter, then dimmer. But then something changed.

Several Unknown Objects Seen

Now he could clearly see that the single, flickering light was joined by several smaller lights. They surrounded the main object, and flashed randomly. Although they brightened at times, they paled in comparison to the main light/object.

The main light now began to move from side to side. His wife, who was now enthralled with the objects, noticed that the colors of the smaller objects were changing; from white to red, back to white, then a green tint, and back to white again.

The main object would occasionally move, then remain stationary. This process repeated itself over and over again. Then it began to move in small circles for about 4 minutes. Before long, a second object was spotted, just to the right of the first one. It also would brighten, then dim.

Lights Form Triangle

Although the second object appeared later than the first, amazingly the two objects moved as if they were attached. In a minute or two, a third object made its appearance. It moved above the second light, and the witness stated that if you drew a dot from object to object, they would form an equilateral triangle.

At the two continued to observe the triangle of lights, they attempted to capture it on photograph, but the light from the triangle blurred together, making a clear photo impossible.

Animal Reaction

The couple could now hear the dog begin to howl from inside the house, something he hardly ever did. The wife went to the house to attend to him thinking he just wanted to go outside, but as soon as she saw him, she could tell he was frightened more than she had ever seen him. His eyes were bugged out, and his ears drawn down and shaking.

She got her dog to go outside and started walking him to a clearing in the trees. She clearly saw an extremely bright light to her southwest. It was larger, brighter and closer than the three lights of the triangle shape. This light/object jumped around in the sky before it slowly disappeared.

As soon as it had faded out, another light appeared; also very bright in the sky. Then it began to fade was soon gone from sight. Only the husband was able to see the second light appear, as his wife's neck was hurting from looking to the sky so much. All the while, the three lights of the triangle was still present.

After a prolonged time watching the enigmatic lights appear, the couple felt that they were being watched, and decided to call it a night. After going into the house for the night, their dog began to settle down some, but still had to sleep in their bed.
