Google Acquires Quickoffice ? Business Productivity App Suite ...

quickofficeGoogle has purchased Quickoffice. While the dollar amount remains undisclosed we can feel confident that Quickoffice must have been an important addition to the Google vision of mobile productivity. Quickoffice is most well know for its effective suite of Microsoft Office compatible applications. On the scene very early in the Android game, Quickoffice established its name as the number one app to view and edit Excel, Word, and PowerPoint files.

Its clear that Google has visions to integrate this newly acquired technology into Google Drive as a part of its own suite of business tools made available through Google Apps. Here is the official statement from Google:

We?re happy to announce that we have acquired QuickOffice, a leader in office productivity solutions.

Today, consumers, businesses and schools use Google Apps to get stuff done from anywhere, with anyone and on any device. Quickoffice has an established track record of enabling seamless interoperability with popular file formats, and we?ll be working on bringing their powerful technology to our Apps product suite.

Quickoffice has a strong base of users, and we look forward to supporting them while we work on an even more seamless, intuitive and integrated experience.

We?re excited to welcome the Quickoffice team and their users to Google.
